MIRA/PACS | Mercy Imaging Remote Access | Picture Archive and Communication System
MIRA and PACS work together to provide an online image archive system from which physicians can view and track patient reports and radiology images from throughout the Mercy system.
While Mercy Imaging Centers and the Mercy Hospitals retain the ability to print film if requested, MIRA enables referring physicians to view both the images and the radiologists' interpretations online. Currently, MIRA is the only product providing this convenient functionality.
Utilizing the PACS interface, referring physician offices may improve workflow patterns by:
- Replacing the use of film with digital images
- Providing clinicians with access to their patients' images and reports regardless of which Mercy facility the patient visited for imaging exams
- Providing the radiologist's report attached to final images
- Improving the use of online and offsite storage in the image archive
- Obtaining lists of appointments and admissions in advance, allowing prior images to be pre-fetched from offsite storage
Mercy Health Information Exchange (HIE)
The Mercy HIE provides online access to retrieve patient reports and schedule appointments throughout the Sacramento area Mercy system, as well as interfacing with physician office EMR systems.
Enterprise Access (EA) is an Internet-based system offering a great solution for offices that do not have an EMR system. Enterprise Access allows physicians and their staff to access clinical information at CHW hospitals regardless of their location with the only requirement for access being a computer with a high-speed internet connection. In addition, EA allows physician offices the convenience of online appointment scheduling at the Sacramento area Mercy Imaging Centers. Offices already setup with EA credentials can use this link to access the site.
Transformation and Distribution Services (TDS) offers integration with offices that currently do have an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system, automating the delivery of clinical information from CHW facilities to physician practices' individual EMR systems. The benefit to physician offices that utilize TDS that is integrated with their EMR is access to all their patients' information regardless of which Mercy facility they received care in. This includes hospital procedures, surgeries, lab results and outpatient imaging - all in one place.
Physician practices are only responsible for costs associated with their EMR (typically interface fees) with an HIE/TDS connection
